In the Third Grade Manual, Hearty Heart and his band of intergalactic health experts guide your class through a 15 session, 5 week program that focuses on developing healthful eating and exercise habits. The lessons begin with the characters, Hearty Heart & Dynamite Diet, who go on an adventure to teach the children of Earth all about having a healthy heart. Each chapter begins with another episode in the adventure story, followed up with activities to reinforce the lessons taught in the story. At the end of each lesson, there are a series of activities and a summary of what was learned. Reinforcement of lessons and parent participation is encouraged with "Family Letters". Throughout the manual CATCH has provided snack recipes that are kid and teacher-friendly to prepare.
