Safety-Kut® blocks are extremely soft, so tools tend to bite into the material as opposed to glancing off as with linoleum. These blocks are quite heavy, nonskid surface tends to keep the material in front of the student instead of slipping away. Safety-Kut® blocks are a full 3/8 in. thick, which makes them easier to handle and far more substantial than the usual 1/8 in. linoleum. Blocks can be carved on both sides, so you get two carving surfaces for the price of one! These flexible blocks will allow printing on various types of roto presses as well as in a linoleum block printing press, or just by applying simple pressure to the block - no rubbing tools are needed.
