This text presents the theory and practice of Adventure Based Counseling with the intended audience of counselors, teachers, and therapists and can also be adapted for almost any group work which combines elements of experiential learning, outdoor education, and group counseling techniques. It includes "Theory: a discussion of the Adventure Wave," sequencing, briefing, goal setting, leading, debriefing, and practice. While there are no activities, there are sample applications of ABC in schools, hospitals and treatment facilities and programs for court-referred youth.
