This AP Chemistry Kit from Innovating Science guides students through experiments to determine and compare the reactivity of different metals. It utilizes a table that features metals arranged in order of their decreasing chemical reactivity. To empirically determine which of the metals is more reactive, students will place a piece of the metal in a salt solution of the other. The more reactive metal will replace the less reactive metal and the less reactive will appear in the solid form. The reactive metal has been oxidized while the less reactive metal has been reduced.
