Obsidian is a hard, black glass-like extrusive igneous rock that forms as a result of volcanic lava cooling quickly. This Black Obsidian rock sample is a gorgeous, high quality, and trimmed specimen. The size can range in size from 50 x 75 millimeters (approximately 2 x 3 inches) up to 75 x 100 millimeters (approximately 3 x 4 inches) for easy viewing and handling in class.
